About The Position

As an Armed Security Officer - Afternoon Shift in Detroit, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas within a cultural institution, helping to deter security-related incidents while creating a welcoming environment for all visitors. Requirements

  • Possess a valid concealed carry weapons permit.
  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, utilizing de-escalation skills when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and address potential concerns.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and other access points to help to deter unauthorized entry and maintain a presence throughout the location.
  • Document and report security-related incidents, observations, and activities according to Allied Universal protocols.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement or emergency responders when required, following established communication procedures.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor while interacting with staff, visitors, and members of the public in a cultural institution environment.
