About The Position

As an Armed Security Officer - Afternoon Shift in Detroit, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas within a cultural institution, helping to deter security-related incidents while creating a welcoming environment for all visitors. Requirements

Possess a valid concealed carry weapons permit.
Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as needed.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, utilizing de-escalation skills when appropriate.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and address potential concerns.
Monitor entrances, exits, and other access points to help to deter unauthorized entry and maintain a presence throughout the location.
Document and report security-related incidents, observations, and activities according to Allied Universal protocols.
Collaborate with local law enforcement or emergency responders when required, following established communication procedures.
Maintain a professional demeanor while interacting with staff, visitors, and members of the public in a cultural institution environment.
