About The Position

The Armed Security Office plays a critical role in protecting the safety, security, and integrity of the Farm & Forge campus. This position focuses on campus protection, active monitoring, incident response, and maintaining a professional security presence to ensure all facilities and grounds remain safe for students, members, guests, and staff. Reporting to the Security Manager, this role supports daily campus operations through routine patrols, surveillance monitoring, access control, and emergency response. This individual helps ensure the campus remains secure, responds appropriately to incidents, and escalates concerns when needed. This is a highly responsible, active, no desk role ideal for someone who is alert, dependable, exercises sound judgment, and takes pride in protecting people and maintaining a safe environment.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age
Ability to obtain and maintain a Tennessee Armed Security Guard License
Ability to remain alert and focused for extended periods
Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, bend, and patrol large outdoor areas
Ability to exercise sound judgment in high pressure situations
Willingness to complete all required security and safety training
Prior law enforcement, military, or armed security experience preferred
POST certification
Experience working in schools, athletic facilities, or campus environments preferred
CRP, AED, First Aid, and bleeding control certification preferred
Active assailant response training

Responsibilities

Provide a visible armed security presence throughout campus
Conduct routine patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter
Monitor surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and access control platforms
Control and monitor entry and exit points to ensure authorized access
Respond immediately and appropriately to incidents, alarms, and emergencies
Assist with traffic control and parking during daily operations and special events
Support safety and emergency response procedures, including medical incidents
Serve as a first responder until emergency services arrive when necessary
Assist staff, students, members, and guests with safety-related needs
Enforce campus safety policies and procedures professionally and consistently
Complete detailed incident reports and daily activity logs
Coordinate with leadership and law enforcement as required
Support special events and adjust coverage as needed
Maintain all assigned security equipment and uniforms in professional condition
Perform other duties as assigned
