As an Armed Security Officer with Paragon Systems, Inc., you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of federally owned or leased facilities, federal property, and personnel. This position requires a proactive approach to security, where you will observe and report activities and incidents while assigned to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Federal Protective Service. Your responsibilities will include preventing unauthorized access to facilities, responding to unusual or emergency situations, and utilizing appropriate levels of force, including armed response, as dictated by the situation and established protocols. You will also conduct periodic tours to check for irregularities and inspect protection devices and fire control equipment. In addition to these duties, you will be responsible for preserving order and enforcing regulations and directives pertaining to personnel, visitors, and the premises. The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong background in security, law enforcement, or military service, with at least two years of relevant experience. You will need to possess a Florida D and G License, as well as a high school diploma or GED. As a Paragon Security Officer, you will be expected to demonstrate excellent customer service skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others. This role offers a competitive wage range of $23.52 to $26.02 per hour, along with a Health and Welfare benefit of $5.25 where applicable. Full-time employees can expect paid leave ranging from 80 to 160 hours per year, based on longevity in the position, and a minimum of 56 hours of sick leave annually. This position is available for both full-time and part-time employment, providing flexibility for candidates.
