About The Position

The Armed Security Officer position at DM Burr Group involves ensuring the safety and security of premises and personnel at the Flint Housing Commission during the 3rd shift. Requirements

• 6+ months security experience
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid Concealed Pistol License (CPL)
• Proficiency in handling firearms
• Ability to pass a DMV check and drive company vehicle
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
• Ability to follow basic verbal and written instructions
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to pass a criminal background check
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license

Responsibilities

• Secure premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry.
• Unlock buildings/doors after checking identification and compliance with policies.
• Observe activity and traffic in assigned area to enforce rules/regulations; alert visitors of infractions.
• Assist any persons in building or on grounds needing directions or information.
• Prevent losses or damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassers.
• Complete reports by recording observations and information, occurrences and surveillance activities; submit reports to supervisor if required.
• Respond to alarms and/or dispatched calls.
• Assist law enforcement officers with crowd control and surveillance at large public events, if needed.
