About The Position

As a Security Officer Armed Roving Driver in Polkton, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. This is a driving post, so you may use a vehicle to cover assigned areas and respond to routine calls for assistance. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • An armed guard card/license is preferred.
  • A valid firearms permit is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and contractors at a government corrections location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Perform armed access control duties including verifying identification, managing entry and exit points, and documenting authorized movements according to post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications, coordinating with on-site personnel and/or responding agencies, and providing clear written and verbal reports.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, yards, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity, identify hazards, and report maintenance and operational concerns.
  • Operate security-related systems and tools such as radios, CCTV, and/or key and equipment control processes; complete logs, incident reports, and shift turnover communications as required.
