As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents, and respond to situations with calm, clear communication. You will complete routine patrols, document key observations, and support a professional visitor experience. Requirements

  • Be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • An armed guard card and/or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to government facility staff and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas and perimeter areas; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Control access at designated entry points by verifying identification, screening visitors and/or vehicles as required and directing individuals to appropriate check-in areas.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, notifying public agencies as needed and supporting evacuation and/or shelter-in-place procedures per post orders.
  • Document observations, incidents and patrol activities in written reports and electronic systems; communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
