About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol in Elizabeth City, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a hospital location, you will conduct routine foot and/or vehicle patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to calls for assistance from staff, patients, and visitors. You will document activities, communicate clearly, and support a welcoming environment while acting with integrity. Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Perform armed patrol duties in accordance with post orders, maintaining proper weapon retention, handling, and storage practices while on duty.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, trespass concerns, and disorderly conduct, and request law enforcement and/or medical assistance when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify hazards or suspicious behavior.
  • Complete detailed security-related reports and incident documentation, and communicate observations to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision as required.
