As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government library location, you will conduct routine patrols inside and around the property, remain highly visible to help deter security-related incidents, and respond to situations with calm, professional communication. This post requires an armed guard card/license and a valid driver’s license under AU Driver Policy requirements. Requirements

  • Have 1 or more years of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors and staff by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Carry an authorized firearm and related equipment in accordance with licensing requirements, post orders, and use of force guidelines; maintain situational awareness and professional presence.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; coordinate with site personnel and/or public law enforcement as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior spaces, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity; working conditions may vary by location.
  • Complete security-related reports, incident documentation, and daily activity logs; communicate observations and status updates to supervision and/or the client representative.
