As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will perform routine patrols and remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will respond to alarms and unusual activity, communicate clearly with staff and visitors, and document observations with professionalism and integrity. This post requires a valid armed guard card/license and a valid driver’s license to support mobile patrol coverage and rapid response. Requirements

  • Possess an Armed Guard Card/License.
  • Have 6 months or more armed security, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Be 21 years of age or older.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to on-site personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities within a government corrections location.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual activity, unsecured doors or gates, and/or policy violations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with facility staff and/or law enforcement as required by post orders.
  • Control access at designated points by verifying identification, screening authorized entries, and/or documenting visitor, vehicle, and delivery activity in accordance with site procedures.
  • Complete timely written reports, log entries, and/or evidence documentation related to incidents, patrol observations, and equipment checks, and communicate relevant information to supervisors and oncoming personnel.
