ARMED SECURITY GUARD – MAT SINKING UNIT (MSU) Federal Contract | U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Specialized Marine Operations Security Position with On-Site Lodging CONTROLLED F.O.R.C.E., Inc., a leading Woman-Owned Small Business specializing in federal security services, is seeking highly qualified Armed Security Guards for our Mat Sinking Unit (MSU) security detail. This specialized position provides security services for USACE marine operations involving the deployment and maintenance of concrete mat revetments for river and waterway infrastructure. The Mat Sinking Unit (MSU) is a specialized USACE marine operations team that deploys concrete mat revetments to protect riverbanks, levees, and waterway infrastructure. Security guards assigned to the MSU provide armed protection for personnel, equipment, and government property during these specialized field operations. MSU deployments involve working at various waterway locations with on-site sleeping quarters provided. Due to limited sleeping quarters at operational sites, the MSU security detail operates with a maximum of 5 guards (with potential for 2 additional positions if optional requirements are exercised). This position is ideal for security professionals who enjoy field work, marine environments, and deployment-style operations.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain required government credentials and background checks
  • Must possess valid state-issued armed security license/certification
  • Must pass Physical Agility Test (PAT) administered by contractor with COR oversight
  • Must qualify with assigned duty weapon using approved course of fire
  • Must possess valid driver's license
  • Must be willing and able to deploy to various waterway locations for extended periods
  • Must be comfortable with on-site lodging arrangements and shared sleeping quarters
  • Must be flexible with deployment schedules and rotation periods
  • Must be able to work extended shifts and various duty hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be comfortable working in outdoor/marine environments and various weather conditions
  • Ability to stand/walk for extended periods on uneven terrain and near waterways
  • Ability to respond quickly to security incidents in field environments
  • Must pass annual Physical Agility Test
  • Ability to operate security vehicles and equipment in various field conditions
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, humidity)
  • Comfortable working near water and marine operations
  • Ability to navigate field sites and operational areas safely
  • Must be available for extended deployment periods at various waterway locations
  • Must be able to live and work effectively in close quarters with other team members
  • Must maintain personal readiness for rapid deployment to MSU operations
  • Must be self-sufficient and able to work with minimal supervision in field settings
  • Must demonstrate maturity, professionalism, and sound judgment in remote/field environments
  • Ability to adapt to changing operational locations and field conditions
  • Comfortable working around heavy marine equipment and construction operations

Responsibilities

  • Provide 24/7 armed security services during MSU field operations at various waterway locations
  • Protect MSU personnel, specialized marine equipment, and government property during deployment
  • Conduct security patrols of operational areas and equipment staging sites
  • Monitor and control access to MSU work sites and government property
  • Respond to security incidents, emergencies, and suspicious activities in field environments
  • Maintain visible security presence during marine operations
  • Work independently with minimal direct supervision during deployment periods
  • Secure specialized MSU marine equipment including mat-laying barges, crane vessels, and support equipment
  • Observe and monitor removal of government property and equipment from operational sites
  • Verify ENG Form 4900 documentation when government property is being removed
  • Record vehicle information, CAC credentials, and detailed descriptions of suspicious activities
  • Document the 5 W's (Who, What, When, Where, Why) in comprehensive incident reports
  • Photograph items being removed when appropriate for identification purposes
  • Report suspicious activities to Security Office by next business day
  • Maintain security of fuel, tools, and specialized marine equipment during field operations
  • Maintain radio/cellular communication with team members, COR, Security Office, and Law Enforcement
  • Follow proper escalation procedures: (1) Project Manager, (2) COR, (3) Chief of Security, or 911 as warranted
  • Provide timely status updates and situation reports from field locations
  • Coordinate with MSU operations personnel and government representatives during deployment
  • Maintain communication capability in various field and marine environments
