About The Position

Meritus Solutions Group is looking for an armed security officer at Bonneville Dam. Armed Security Guards for this federal contract are primarily responsible to perform security and patrol functions such as securing buildings and property, protecting personnel, equipment and material and controlling access to work locations by employees and visitors. The guard will respond to emergencies, conduct inspections and perimeter checks and access control. The guard will be responsible for various government reports. Candidates must meet the following requirements: Obtain an armed security from Oregon (the company will assist in this) Union: All guards belong to a union; this ensures fair wages with increased annual pay raises. Overtime is available (pay increases to time and a half) Meet all of the following requirements: Must be 21 years old Be able to pass a government background check Read, write and speak English fluently High School diploma/GED Possess a current valid State Driver's License Certification Requirements: The company will assist all applicants (if chosen) in obtaining their Oregon armed security license. It will also provide at no cost to the applicant all other US Army required training: 1. Baton/OC/Handcuff (no cost to the applicant) 2. CPR/First Aid/AED (no cost to the applicant) 3. US Army Pistol qualification course (no cost to the applicant) 4. Medical/drug screening (no cost to the applicant) 5. All other DoD Army required training courses (no cost to the applicant) 6. Uniforms/gear/duty weapon is provided at no cost to the guard. Education Requirements High School/GED or College degree Hours per week: 30-39 The schedule is set up for all guards to work 3 or 4 days consecutive and then be off for 3-4 days consecutive. This allows for a balanced work-life schedule. Paid holidays (11 federal holidays per year). (this means even if you don't work on a federal holiday, you still get paid) Earn vacation (80 hrs) after 1 year. Earn sick leave from day one (56 hours per year) Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $22.16 per hour plus an additional $5.09 = Total $27.25
