About The Position

Odyssey Systems is recruiting to fill a Senior level Senior Armaments and Stores Integration Engineer (FMS) position supporting the ISR Sensors Division (AFLCMC/WIN), at Wright Patterson AFB, OH. WIN is part of the ISR/SOF Directorate (AFLCMC/WI), who is responsible for equipping our warfighters to win the fight. The Directorate executes a $22 billion acquisition portfolio developing, producing, testing, modifying, fielding, and supporting Air Force ISR and SOF platforms, and related sub-systems. Program description: The ISR/SOF Directorate has the collective Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) mission responsibility for equipping ISR & SOF warfighters to dominate the battlespace.   • Education and Years of Experience:
  • Master’s or Doctorate Degree in a related field and ten years of experience in the respective technical / professional discipline being performed, five years of which must be in the DoD.
  • or Bachelor’s degree in a related field and eight years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, three of which must be in the DoD.
  • OR, 15 years of directly related experience, eight of which must be in the DoD.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s or Doctorate Degree in a related field and ten years of experience in the respective technical / professional discipline being performed, five years of which must be in the DoD.
  • Minimum 7 years experience obtaining AFSEO (SEEK EAGLE) approval as highlighted in AFPAM 63-129 and AFI 63-101.
  • Minimum 3 years experience obtaining Non-Nuclear Munitions Safety Board Approval (NNMSB) as described in DAFI91-205.
  • Minimum 5 years experience with MIL-HBK 516C or previous versions.
  • Minimum 5 years experience with MIL-HBK 516C Section 17.1, 17.2, 17.4.
  • Minimum 5 years experience with MIL-HDBK-244A GUIDE TO AIRCRAFT/STORES COMPATIBILITY.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience working in an engineering/technical organization with strict document control.
  • Have completed or can complete AFIT Airworthiness course completion within 12 months. DAIR 116, DAIR 216, WKSP 0691, DAIR 316.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical authority and subject matter expert (SME) for all armaments and stores integration activates in accordance with AFSEO (SEEK EAGLE) Aircraft Integration process described AFPAM 63-129 and AFI 63-101.
  • Provide technical guidance and direction to other engineers, technicians, and maintenance personnel.
  • Lead multiple US Government armament and stores integration activities and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable engineering standards, regulations, and DoD Instructions, Department of Air Force (DAF) Policy Directives, DAF Instructions, associated DAF Pamphlets, Military Handbooks, and Military Standards.
  • Serve as a liaison between the contractor, regulatory agencies, and PMO, addressing and resolving aircraft stores and integration risks, concerns, and issues.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex technical issues and develop innovative solutions.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks and issues, ensuring the successful delivery of projects and initiatives.
  • Participate, brief, and attest as required to feasibility of design and certification presented at system engineering, program management, and technical reviews.
  • Communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Provide recommendations and verbiage for stakeholder communication, e.g., SAF/IA, DSCA, Partner Nation, PMO (via PCOLs).
  • Manage Design and Modification.
  • Author SOO, SOW, PWS, Armaments and Stores Integration language for contracts.
  • Provide technical Armaments and Stores Integration evaluation for proposals.
  • Oversee the design, development, and implementation for new or modifications to commercial derivative aircraft (CDA) platforms to meet specific military requirements.
  • Prepare essential USG technical documents, e.g., certification plans, certification bases, methods of compliance, substantiating data, system safety risk assessments.
  • Manage the process for obtaining SEEKEAGLE and NNMSB (Non-Nuclear Munitions Safety Board) approval.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of all required documentation and substantiating artifacts to support SEEK EAGLE and NNMSB (Non-Nuclear Munitions Safety Board) approval.
  • Ensure the DAF issues NNMSB and SEEK EAGLE approvals for all modifications in accordance with necessary timelines.
  • Conduct technical reviews of design documentation, test plans, and analysis reports to ensure compliance with airworthiness, SE requirements, NNMSB requirements, and SEEK EAGLE requirements.
  • Participate in ground and flight-testing activities to verify compliance with airworthiness, SE requirements, NNMSB requirements, and SEEK EAGLE requirements.
  • Ensure military operating environment and usage are considered.
  • Ensure aircraft and modifications are interoperable with other military systems and equipment.
  • Review engineering change proposals, ensuring they are technically sound, cost-effective, and compliant with DAF airworthiness regulations, SE requirements, NNMSB regulations, and SEEK EAGLE regulations.
  • Ensure accurate configuration control of the aircraft and its systems, tracking all modifications and changes.
  • Manage artifacts and data requirements to support NNMSB and SEEK EAGLE test cycles and technical planning for SE activities.
  • Ensure vendors are compliant with contractual requirements.
