Requirements

  • With a college degree, a minimum of 2 years of experience in engineering, mining, geology or related field; without a degree, a minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Ability to obtain state certification(s) within one year of employment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills to work in a stressful, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to use technology including cell phones, lab equipment, and computers.
  • High degree of product knowledge and understanding of mix design characteristics.
  • Working knowledge of aggregate, asphalt, and ready mix concrete plant operations.
  • Knowledge of ASTM, DOT, and AASHTO testing procedures.
  • Understanding of OSHA and MSHA rules and regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with various personnel.
  • Current, valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Promote Safety by prioritizing and creating a strong safety culture to ensure zero accidents and compliance with Vulcan policies.
  • Collaborate on Product Quality with management on mining plans and plant changes affecting quality ratings and gradation control.
  • Supervise, Train and Support plant input/output sampling, testing, and data interpretation to improve optimization and efficiencies.
  • Maintain Customer Satisfaction by partnering with sales and key customer contacts to set product performance expectations.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
