About The Position
Ross Dress for Less is currently hiring Full Time Area Supervisors at our Greensburg, PA location! The Area Supervisor is a key member of the Store Leadership team, responsible for overseeing a specific area of the store as well as general operations when acting as the Manager on Duty. This role involves opening and closing the store, supervising associates, and ensuring a friendly and easy shopping environment. The Area Supervisor is tasked with maintaining proper merchandise presentation and a clean work area at all times, while also executing and supervising company operational processes as needed. A primary focus of the Area Supervisor is to maintain a safe and secure environment. This includes understanding that safety is the number one priority and practicing safe behaviors in all activities. The supervisor must maintain a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe shopping environment, immediately correcting or reporting any unsafe conditions. Responsibilities also include managing the security of the building, ensuring customer safety, and responding to after-hours alarms when necessary. Customer service is another essential function of this role. The Area Supervisor must treat all customers, associates, and leaders with respect, demonstrating courtesy and professionalism at all times. They are responsible for maintaining a professional appearance and ensuring that all associates adhere to the company dress code. The supervisor also plays a crucial role in general merchandising, ensuring that recovery, sizing, and markdowns are completed to company standards, and that the stockroom is clean and organized. In addition to these responsibilities, the Area Supervisor must understand and comply with the Loss Prevention Awareness Program, maintaining a strong customer service presence on the sales floor and safeguarding confidential information. They will also supervise front-end operations, ensuring that associates are executing to company standards and managing customer wait times effectively. Administrative duties assigned by the Store Manager, including payroll administration and cash handling, are also part of the role. Overall, the Area Supervisor is expected to lead by example, communicate effectively, and ensure accountability and execution of tasks.
