About The Position

The Area Supervisor is a key member of the Store Leadership team, responsible for overseeing a specific area of the store as well as the general operations when acting as the Manager on Duty. This role is crucial in ensuring that the store operates smoothly and efficiently, providing a safe and enjoyable shopping experience for customers. The Area Supervisor is tasked with opening and closing the store, supervising associates, and maintaining a friendly and easy-to-shop environment. They play a vital role in ensuring proper merchandise presentation and cleanliness throughout the store. Additionally, they are responsible for executing and supervising company operational processes as needed, which includes maintaining safety and security protocols, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. In terms of safety, the Area Supervisor must prioritize creating a secure shopping environment by being vigilant on the sales floor, correcting or reporting unsafe conditions, and managing the security of the building. They are also responsible for customer safety, including accident prevention and emergency procedures. Customer service is another essential function of this role, where the Area Supervisor must treat all customers and associates with respect and professionalism, recognizing associates through company recognition programs. The Area Supervisor is also involved in general merchandising tasks, ensuring that recovery, sizing, and markdowns are completed to company standards. They are responsible for receiving merchandise, processing it efficiently, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of stockrooms. Loss prevention is a critical aspect of the role, requiring the Area Supervisor to engage with customers and associates to minimize loss and ensure compliance with loss prevention policies. Front end supervision and operations are also part of the Area Supervisor's responsibilities, where they must ensure that associates are executing company standards at the front end, managing customer wait times, and training associates on cash register operations. Administrative duties assigned by the Store Manager include managing cash pulls, bank deposits, and payroll administration. Overall, the Area Supervisor must demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to effectively manage their responsibilities and contribute to the store's success.
