The Area Supervisor III is responsible for the management and financial performance of the Division; oversees operational and maintenance activities, including wastewater treatment, collections system, lift stations, and customer field service functions. This role is critical in ensuring the division meets Aqua standards for compliance, operational excellence, and integrity.

Requirements

  • High school degree required.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must have 5-7 years of related experience.
  • Must possess T-2, W-2, S-2, and C-2 licenses, with ability to acquire level 3 in all within 3 years.
  • Prior supervisory experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises union personnel, including employee selection and performance management.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and managing performance in accordance with HR policies.
  • Manage, develop, and coach staff while effectively addressing performance issues.
  • Directs Aqua personnel and contractors to ensure compliance and efficiency of water and wastewater facilities.
  • Responsible for preventative maintenance on water and wastewater systems.
  • Performs periodic inspections and prepares operating and capital budgets.
  • Keeps maintenance records up to date.
  • Supervises a program for effective vehicle and equipment maintenance.
  • Interacts with customers and regulators to resolve issues.
  • Oversees emergency duty roster and schedules on-call coverage.
  • Institutes and supervises Aqua America's Safety Program.
  • Maintains and searches for new methods of increasing productivity and quality.
  • Provides oversight of employees to ensure proper use of financial systems.
  • Participates in professional organizations and training courses.
  • Promotes the company's position and image through positive communications.
  • Notifies Customer Service Department of availability issues.
  • Collaborates with Engineering department on construction projects.
  • Responsible for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Administers internal software applications for compliance reporting.
  • Oversees cleaning and maintenance of the office facility.
  • Available for response to emergencies after hours.
  • Performs other assignments as required.
