The Area Supervisor is a member of the Store Leadership who is responsible for a specific, assigned area of the Store as well as the general operations and supervision of the Store when functioning as the Manager on Duty. Area Supervisors are responsible for opening and closing the Store, supervising Associates, and maintaining a friendly, easy to shop environment. They ensure proper merchandise presentation, and maintain a clean work area at all times. Area Supervisors are also responsible for executing and supervising Company operational processes as needed. The role requires maintaining safe and secure environments, understanding that safety is the number one priority and practicing safe behaviors in everything they do. This includes maintaining a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment for everyone. The Area Supervisor is responsible for customer service, treating all Customers, Associates, and other leaders with respect, demonstrating courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism at all times. They represent and support the Company brand, ensuring all Associates adhere to the Company Dress Code at all times. In terms of general merchandising, the Area Supervisor ensures recovery, sizing, and markdowns are completed to Company standards through teaching, assigning tasks, and following up per Company best practice. They are responsible for receiving merchandise trucks when needed and processing all merchandise with a sense of urgency. The role also includes loss prevention responsibilities, ensuring compliance with the Loss Prevention Awareness Program and maintaining a large Customer service presence on the sales floor. The Area Supervisor will also oversee front end supervision and operations, ensuring Associates are executing to Company standards at the Front End, maintaining pace, energy, and presence to manage customer wait times. They will train and coach Associates on cash registers and shortage control policies. Administrative duties assigned by the Store Manager include ensuring cash pulls and bank deposits are conducted to Company policy, payroll administration, and other duties as assigned. Overall, the Area Supervisor plays a crucial role in the daily operations of the store, ensuring a positive shopping experience for customers while leading and developing the store team.
