The Area Sales Representative oversees a geographical sales territory ensuring that independent and regional account business is developed, and budgeted sales and profit objectives are achieved. Job Summary The Area Sales Representative is a field based, high activity hunter role with full ownership of a geographic territory. This position is ideal for someone who thrives on being in front of customers, driving territory strategy, and representing a mission critical service in a fast paced market. This is a road warrior role: most days are spent in the field meeting prospects, visiting clients, and building relationships. Requirements

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to connect quickly and build professional relationships.
  • High emotional intelligence with the ability to ask great questions and actively listen.
  • Ability to collaborate across internal teams to support customer needs and ensure seamless service.
  • Strong organization, time management, and follow through.
  • CRM experience (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar) is preferred but not required, training is available.
  • Previous sales or customer facing experience is desired but not required; we’re committed to training motivated candidates.
  • Brings resilience and a solution oriented mindset when navigating challenges or shifting priorities.
  • Creative problem-solving and strategic thinking to identify opportunities and drive business growth.
  • Valid Driver’s License within the state territory.

Responsibilities

  • Own and grow a defined territory through field prospecting, phone outreach, networking, referrals, and ongoing client engagement, including in person visits, calls, emails, and relationship building activities.
  • Build and manage a strong sales pipeline from initial outreach through long-term account expansion.
  • Develop a deep understanding of client operations and logistics needs to effectively position Imperative’s solutions.
  • Use data, tools, and market insights to strategically plan daily activities and maximize territory performance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless customer support and long-term success.
  • Represent Imperative professionally and consistently with a customer first mindset in all interactions.
