This role is responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market share, and building strong client relationships. The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with proven success in B2B sales and team development, preferably within the staffing industry. Candidates must reside within the identified areas below and be comfortable with 60% travel. Locations: New England Area (NY, CT, MA) The Area Sales Manager is responsible for leading a team of local sales professionals to grow market share, deepen client relationships, and deliver staffing solutions that meet customer needs. This role is highly visible in the market, requiring strong leadership, strategic thinking, and a hands-on approach to sales execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
  • 5+ years history of success in sales roles, ideally with career progression, preferably B2B.
  • 3+ years of sales leadership experience in staffing industry or similar experience.
  • Proven success in leading sales teams and driving market growth.
  • Experience coaching and developing others.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms (Salesforce preferred).
  • Willingness to travel within the assigned market (approx. 60% field time).
  • Must reside within the assigned market

Responsibilities

  • Hire, retain and lead a team of local sales representatives to achieve revenue targets and quota attainment.
  • Drive and manage a disciplined pipeline management process.
  • Execute and model sales playbook and methodology.
  • Drive acquisition of new customers and revenue.
  • Actively represent PeopleReady in the market through client visits, networking events, and community engagement.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partnering on high-value deals and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Support reps in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities through prospecting and outreach.
  • Conduct bi-weekly funnel reviews, analyze sales metrics, and provide actionable feedback to drive results.
  • Partner with operations, recruitment, marketing, and sales enablement to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Monitor competitor activity, customer feedback, and industry trends to inform strategy and identify growth opportunities.
