About The Position

The Area Sales Manager plays a critical leadership role within a defined geographic area, driving the adoption and growth of the company’s finance products while increasing portfolio balances, market share, and profitability. This role leads a team of sales professionals, partners closely with field and area leadership, and serves as a visible ambassador for the business with customers, branches, and industry partners.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in the green industry, with strong knowledge of irrigation, nursery, or landscape products and practices (strongly preferred)
  • Proven ability to effectively use CRM tools to organize accounts, manage opportunities, and drive consistent sales execution
  • Strong negotiation and consultative selling skills, with an understanding of re‑wholesaling
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, influence, and build relationships across customers, branches, and internal teams
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of sales professionals using the company’s Salesforce Effectiveness Program to drive consistent sales execution and results
  • Partner with the Area Manager to grow market share, increase gross margin, and achieve financial and sales objectives
  • Drive increased usage and penetration of company finance products across the assigned territory
  • Conduct on‑site customer visits to promote company products, services, and financial solutions
  • Maintain and grow relationships with existing customers and vendors through in‑person, phone, and electronic communication
  • Actively participate in local and regional trade associations to strengthen the company’s presence, expand relationships, and generate new opportunities
  • Collaborate closely with branch teams to promote awareness of sales initiatives, financial programs, and product applications
  • Serve as a connector between sales, operations, and leadership to align strategy and execution across the area
  • Leverage CRM tools to manage accounts, track opportunities, document customer interactions, and report on pipeline and performance
  • Attend and participate in internal and external sales and product training to continuously enhance selling skills, product knowledge, and financial acumen
