Requirements

  • Minimum of High School education, post-high school education preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years in hotel service role or sales experience preferred
  • Strong analytical skills relative to impact on hotel revenues  
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing  
  • Strong interpersonal skills  
  • Strong understanding of revenue management principles  
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products, focus on Excel, Word and Outlook 
  • Must have flexible work hours that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

  • Drive customer loyalty to grow share of the account by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience.
  • Sets examples through a professional, friendly attitude towards clients and team members, and timely responses to clients and team members.
  • Receives and responds to requests for information and inquiries by responding directly to the customer or routing communication with the appropriate team member (if applicable).
  • Manage sales business by composing and distributing correspondence, reports, or client documentation including but not limited to - BEOs, PACE Reports, Statistical Reports, and Resumes - based upon organizational practice, and policies.
  • Ensure all pertinent aspects of solicitation, closing, and customer communications are complete and documented for the team.  
  • Identify and pursue new and repeat business through prospecting calls, emails, and market research.
  • Assists with completing daily/weekly/monthly reports.
  • Ensures all documents are completed accurately and on time and maintains digital sales records and filing system.
  • Extend group blocks based on % occupancy and availability based on hotel size.
  • Manage Group Blocks once contracted. This includes sending scheduled rooming list updates, resumes, overall coordination of rooms-only details, and post-event duties.
  • Provide guidance for RFP Season Annually to National Sales with the help from GM and/or Regional DOS & National Sales.
  • Develop and maintain market awareness to ensure ability to predict revenue opportunities and set proactive strategies.  
  • Provides advice to clients on all aspects of hotel facilities and services when proposing and contacting groups and events.
  • Establishes client base of organizations, associations, and corporate businesses through direct sales efforts to secure business for the hotel.
  • Negotiate contracts according to company standards.
  • Ensure all pertinent aspects of solicitation, closing, and customer communications are complete and documented.
  • Consistently meet or exceed sales goals including predetermined revenue and sales activity.
  • Participate in Quarterly/Annual Business and Marketing Plans, assist with budget process.
  • Initiates collateral and online marketing efforts to include all printed sales collateral, direct mail, discount promotions, e-mail marketing, website presence and tracks ROI on all advertising and marketing spend.  
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
