About The Position

This position is responsible for providing job coaching and support to individuals at their place of employment. Primary duties include training the individual and/or coworkers, facilitating communication between the individual and the employer, and collaborating with the individual’s support team to ensure long-term success in the workplace. The Area Relief Job Coach provides coverage across multiple locations as needed to ensure uninterrupted services for individuals. This position requires flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to work in a variety of settings to support the ongoing success of individuals served.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record (as applicable).
  • Willingness to travel as assigned.
  • Successful completion of all required background checks as defined by applicable regulations and organizational policies.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and perform physical activities such as walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and standing or sitting for extended periods.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in verbal, written, and reading comprehension in English.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Ability and willingness to complete required training and apply learned skills effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact effectively with individuals who have varying communication styles and abilities.
  • Flexibility in scheduling and working conditions based on the needs of the individuals served.
  • Training and/or interest in the field of developmental disabilities strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one, on-the-job coaching to assist individuals in learning and maintaining employment skills.
  • Collaborate with employers to promote inclusive and supportive work environments.
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and self-advocacy among individuals receiving support.
  • Monitor and document individual progress according to established support plans.
  • Support individuals in building positive professional and social relationships at work.
  • Maintain regular communication with the individual’s support team to ensure coordinated services.
