Job Summary: The Area Program Coordinator/DreamLab Supervisor leads the design and delivery of high quality, relevant, and locally-driven programs that engage Girl Scouts and inspire them to return year after year. Serving as a regional expert, this role curates a dynamic portfolio of in-person, partner-led, and troop-connected experiences that reflect the interests, cultures, and needs of girls, families, and volunteers within their geographic area. This role is deeply embedded in the community—building strong relationships with members, troop leaders, and local program partners. The Coordinator listens actively to membership needs, identifies emerging interests, and ensures every program is girl-centered, fun, and aligned with the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. By integrating satisfaction data, local insights, and collaborative planning with the membership team, the Coordinator ensures each region has a cohesive program plan that supports recruitment, retention, and year-round engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent work experience
  • 2-3 years progressive experience in children’s programming, including program design, implementation & evaluation
  • Strong project and people management skills
  • Critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated strength in both verbal and written communication
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Willingness and ability to work independently within the framework of the council’s plan of work
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Salesforce experience is a plus
  • Demonstrate and promote a climate of courtesy, respect and professionalism to coworkers, the volunteers served by this council, and others with whom her/his job puts her/him in contact
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
  • Attendance is an essential job requirement defined as having regular, consistent, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance including the ability to work regular hours and shifts, before and after hours, and on weekends, when required
  • Must complete and pass a criminal background check and complete required safety training including Protecting Our Girls, ALICE active shooter training, passenger van transportation training, and First Aid/CPR

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop the program portfolio for experiences offered at the East Texas DreamLab
  • Responsible for meeting participation and visitation goals for the East Texas DreamLab
  • Schedule and supervise staff
  • Maintain budget, supply inventory, and programmatic equipment to deliver high quality experiences in the East Texas DreamLab
  • Serve as a lead site contact by providing excellent customer service including, but not limited to, communicating with and resolving problems for troop leaders, parents/caregivers, volunteers, and third-party reservations
  • Own and execute the regional annual program plan in alignment with GSNETX’s strategic priorities, ensuring offerings are relevant, accessible, and reflective of girls’ interests and community needs
  • Curate and deliver immersive Girl Scout experiences using the National Program Portfolio, including badge workshops, STEM, outdoors, healthy living, and financial literacy initiatives
  • Act as a visible and trusted connector with girls, troop leaders, and families—soliciting feedback and staying attuned to their evolving needs and preferences
  • Partner closely with Membership staff to understand troop dynamics and support volunteer-led programming with tools, curriculum, and connections to local resources
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with local nonprofits, educational institutions, businesses, and cultural organizations to co-create impactful, co-branded programs
  • Use program participation data and girl/volunteer satisfaction surveys to evaluate and refine offerings, ensuring experiences are high-quality, relevant, and contribute to Girl Scout retention and growth
  • Identify gaps in program delivery and recommend new solutions or formats to increase reach and satisfaction
  • Lead planning and execution of council-sponsored events and series, including curriculum development, scheduling, registration, communication, and budget management
  • Ensure programs are delivered on time, within budget, and to standard, with effective communication to all stakeholders
