About The Position

The Area Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the Quality Risk Management Process (QRMP) system and operational standards in the plant. This role includes ensuring adherence to Kraft Heinz quality standards, preparing departmental costs, organizing production line activities, and working collaboratively with various departments to improve product quality and productivity. The manager will also monitor compliance with safety regulations, manage departmental budgets, and support employee development and engagement.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory/managerial experience in a food-manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, production line, and equipment.
  • In-depth knowledge of State and Federal rules/regulations such as EEO, OSHA, FDA, USDA.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing procedures and practices.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques.
  • Exposure to food processing systems including high-speed production lines.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the QRMP audit and assist in the development of procedures and corrective actions.
  • Oversee and lead the implementation of the QRMP system and operational standards.
  • Adhere to Kraft Heinz quality standards to ensure product quality and Food Safety.
  • Prepare departmental costs and variances regarding productivity and planning.
  • Organize and facilitate production line activities to ensure conformance to established requirements.
  • Work with Product Development, Suppliers, Engineering, Quality, and Factory Employees to improve quality and productivity.
  • Support employee involvement in safety and problem-solving.
  • Monitor and update area practices and policies for compliance.
  • Work with Product Supply Group in weekly scheduling to optimize productivity.
  • Prepare, distribute, and follow-up on established records and reports.
  • Ensure strong communication across functions and with employees, vendors, and regulators.
  • Monitor productivity data and develop corrective action plans.
  • Implement safety measures for accident prevention.
  • Report on quality defect issues and determine corrective actions.
  • Manage operations to achieve daily efficiencies.
  • Manage budget of assigned department in accordance with productivity targets.
  • Suggest new solutions to production problems.
  • Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations.
  • Assist with process improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee development of high performing work teams through coaching and training.
  • Assist with supervision of production staff including performance management.
