About The Position

Join Avance Care, one of North Carolina’s largest and fastest-growing independent primary care networks. We are seeking a strategic, hands-on Area Practice Manager to serve as a multi-site operational leader across assigned clinic locations. This role is responsible for driving performance, operational excellence, and continuous improvement while aligning clinic operations with broader organizational goals. The Area Practice Manager partners closely with Clinic Managers, Lead Clinicians, and corporate departments to ensure strong financial performance, patient satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and team development.

Requirements

  • Candidates must have a high school diploma, with an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is required, along with at least 2 years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Multi-site management experience is preferred.
  • Proven leadership ability with experience coaching and developing teams
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to interpret performance metrics
  • Conflict resolution and ability to navigate sensitive situations professionally
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective time management and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Technical proficiency with healthcare systems and software
  • Adaptable, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines under pressure

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for operational, financial, and patient satisfaction performance across up to four clinic locations
  • Maintain weekly on-site presence at assigned clinics to provide leadership support and performance oversight
  • Execute strategic initiatives and action plans from the Operations Director, cascading priorities to clinic teams and monitoring results through dashboards and KPIs
  • Directly supervise Clinic Managers, providing coaching, performance feedback, and evaluations in partnership with Human Resources
  • Collaborate with Lead Clinicians on provider-related matters and provide operational coverage when needed
  • Serve as regional Epic Superuser champion, ensuring system updates and workflow changes are effectively implemented
  • Partner with corporate departments to implement process improvements and elevate best practices
  • Act as escalation point for complex patient or employee relations concerns
  • Ensure HIPAA, OSHA, and regulatory compliance through quarterly audits and oversight
  • Manage vendor relationships and escalate contractual matters as necessary
  • Step into Clinic Manager responsibilities during leaves, vacancies, or at smaller clinic locations
