About The Position

At The Budd Group, we build elite teams that drive excellence every single day! We are looking for a high-energy, people-focused Area Operations Manager to join our tight-knit Raleigh-based family. This is a "bench" leadership role designed for a strategic thinker who can manage multiple sites with a focus on biomedical and janitorial accounts. You’ll be reporting directly to leadership, acting as a vital link between our valued customers and our boots-on-the-ground teams. Requirements

  • Proven Leadership Experience: Significant experience managing multi-site operations and leading diverse teams of supervisors or managers.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with Janitorial operations; experience with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) or highly regulated environments (Food, Healthcare, Bio-Manufacturing) is a significant plus.
  • Communication Skills: Strong ability to communicate clearly and professionally with both high-level clients and internal team members.
  • Operational Savvy: Proficient in managing budgets, payroll, and utilizing operational software/systems.
  • Flexibility and Availability: Ability to work a standard 8-to-5 schedule with the flexibility to handle weekend calls or emergency needs as they arise.
  • Character and Drive: A positive, curious, and "invested" attitude; must be able to pass a standard background check.
  • Education: A college degree is preferred, but we highly value and will accept equivalent "in-the-field" management experience in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Multi-Site Operations: Manage a portfolio of 6 to 8 diverse sites, including janitorial and specialized Bio-Manufacturing (GMP) accounts.
  • Lead and Inspire: Provide direct leadership and mentorship to a team of 6 to 10 account managers, ensuring high morale and professional growth.
  • Maintain Quality Standards: Conduct regular site visits and detailed inspections to ensure all facilities meet The Budd Group’s high standards of excellence.
  • Drive Financial Performance: Manage site budgets effectively, monitoring overtime and ensuring operational profitability.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring high Net Promoter Scores (NPS) through proactive communication and service.
  • Ensure Compliance: Oversee adherence to HR protocols, safety training, and incident reporting to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Execute Strategic Transitions: Support internal team shifts and backfill roles as needed to strengthen the overall regional operation.
