The Nursery Sales Manager is responsible for developing and implementing tactical and strategic plans to achieve sales revenue goals within a larger defined geographical area; managing a team focused on nursery sales, gaining market share and asset management in alignment with company financial goals; and developing channel partners through a team of territory managers/ sales representatives.

Requirements

  • Prior experience managing a $40M+ revenue business with full P&L responsibility.
  • 4-7 years experience in a broad range of marketing and sales related job functions especially centered on nursery channel management.
  • 8-10 years internal or external industry specific experience in relevant discipline.
  • Degree in a nursery related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Sales experience, Nursery experience

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements a plan that delivers sales performance results in alignment with sales objectives for the region. Focuses on nursery sales, channel partner development and customer retention.
  • Monitors channel partner performance and replaces or upgrades low- performing channel partners.
  • Promotes sale of products and services to channel partners and end users and is ultimately accountable for meeting sales goals and market share goals.
  • Counsels channel partners on product, marketing, financial and/or management-related matters.
  • Directs dealer location planning efforts by managing the analysis of market coverage and performance to determine the most effective locations for retail outlets.
  • Coaches and counsels other employees to promote employee development and professional growth; provides guidance to field staff to manage channel partner and customer relationships.
  • Provides supervision of subordinate employees and/or team that includes placement, work direction, coaching, development, and performance management.
