About The Position

The Area Mech Woodworker at Disney is a vital role responsible for maintaining the safety and aesthetic appeal of the parks and resorts. This position involves performing scheduled and planned carpentry work, responding to immediate needs, and ensuring that guests enjoy a safe and well-maintained environment. The role requires a blend of technical carpentry skills and the ability to work in various conditions, including elevated platforms and confined spaces.

Requirements

• Valid Florida Driver's License
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in carpentry
• Experience in all facets of the carpenter and cabinet maker trade including rough and finish carpentry, roofing, cabinetmaking and furniture repair
• Ability to operate carpentry shop and hand tools or equipment associated with woodworking
• Experience installing windows, doors, interior and exterior trim, and erecting structures from ground level
• Experience reading and interpreting plumbing blueprints, material takeoffs, prints for permit submittals and construction prints
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
• Proficiency in standard office software programs and mobile electronic devices

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and planned work
• Respond promptly to trouble tickets at a resort, park or attraction
• Handle cleaning chemicals and supplies as required
• Utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as face shields and goggles
• Wear a respirator when necessary

Benefits
