Job Description Duties and responsibilities may vary with company requirements and specific Area requirements. However, in general, performs such typical duties as: Has authority and responsibility for the proper and efficient functioning of projects and other functions as assigned within his/her Area. These efforts include providing staffing and support for both marketing and operations activities in his/her Area. Responsible for planning, revenue, and monitoring his/her Area’s contribution to the Region. May function as Project Director, based on size and nature of his/her projects or other factors. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Corporate Planning Has primary responsibility for developing a 5-year plan for his/her Area. Has primary responsibility for developing a Fiscal Year Area Plan for his/her Area. Supports the development of a 5-year strategic plan for market segment team(s) identifying opportunities within his/her Area. Business Development and Marketing Has primary responsibility for establishing/updating hit list; conducting hit list research; developing relationships; identifying team composition; developing proposals; preparing for interviews; developing the fee proposal. Has secondary responsibility for establishing/updating prospect list; making decision to submit proposal; determining joint venture and/or subconsultant participation; proposal production. Implements new marketing strategies. Project Operations Has primary responsibility for soliciting market segment team input for his/her Area. Has secondary responsibility for project start up, client liaison, quality management for projects, project reporting, project close out, technical support. Maintains client relationships and verifies client satisfaction with project and team performance. Finance and Accounting Has primary responsibility for developing Fiscal Year GA and BD Budget for his/her Area; monitoring budget vs. actual; time sheet approval (GA & BD); expense report/vendor payment approval (GA & BD); leases; contracts Has authority for purchases that are identified in the project budgets and GA/BD budgets within his/her Area. Supports time sheet approval (project); time sheet processing; expense report/vendor payment approval (project); expense report/vendor payment processing; client billing. Responsible for meeting fiscal year plan objectives related to revenue and contribution. Human Resources Development and Management Subject to President’s approval, has responsibility for recruitments, salary determination, bonus allocation, layoff/discharge of employees in his/her Area. Has primary responsibility for professional development of employees in his/her Area. Responsible to encourage a mentoring culture by all supervisors in the Area. Has responsibility for implementation of corporate administrative policies and training coordination. Supports recruitment research, support, and coordination. Minimum Qualifications: Degreee in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or an MBA/Business Degree. CCM certification and active membership in CMAA. AIA, PE, and/or GC license. Experience in construction management operations and sales. Experience in managing construction management services. Education and experience equivalent to that required of a Project Director. Knowledge of: The CM industry, operations, and sales. Basic business practices related to administration and finance, marketing and BD techniques. Understanding of quality management, estimating/cost management, scheduling, constructability review, and management information systems. Sound technical knowledge. At a minimum, knowledge is equivalent to that required of a Project Director. Ability to: Provide leadership. Develop and maintain client relationships. Think strategically and tactically. Develop new business and expand existing business. Be recognized as an industry leader. Properly and efficiently manage projects and other functions as assigned within his/her area(s) of responsibility. Plan for and monitor his/her group’s contribution to the corporation as a whole. At a minimum, abilities are equivalent to those required of a Project Director.
