About The Position

The Area Manager is a Mid-Level Management Position which provides security-related expertise to an assigned FAA Regional Area of Responsibility. Serves as the primary ADC Manager for assigned FAA Sites providing direct supervision for Site Captains. In addition, acts as an Advisor to ADC Leadership regarding all physical security matters. Oversees Site Security Operations ensuring adherence to ADC and FAA Policies; Procedures related to physical security and upholding our Company Commitment, Mission, and Core Values.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Minimum Education - High School Diploma from a duly accredited institution or a State Issued GED.
  • Minimum Security Experience – Five (5) to Ten (10) + years of progressive experience in Physical Security, Law Enforcement, or Military Asset Protection.
  • Minimum Supervisor Experience – Must have two (5) + years of Physical Security, Facility Protection, Law Enforcement, or Military experience at a level commensurate with the FAA scope of work.
  • Must successfully pass an extensive county, state and federal criminal background check.
  • Possess a valid state issued driver’s license.
  • Ability to obtain a relevant security clearance if required.
  • Strong leadership and supervision skills, adept at inspiring and efficiency supervising the site security team.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills. Capable of analyzing intricate security issues and devise/implement effective solutions.
  • Expertise in security principals, crisis management, risk assessment, threat analysis, and emergency response planning and execution.
  • Familiarity with Physical Security Equipment and Access Control Systems.
  • Familiarity with Local, State, and Federal Laws and Regulations relating to Physical Security.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a composed demeanor during hi-pressure emergency scenarios.
  • Outstanding organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills. Skilled at task prioritization and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
  • Ability to read and understand written English reports, post orders, post assignments, policies, procedures, guidelines and instructions.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal finesse, confidently engaging with individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to write reports in English that are grammatically correct and technically accurate.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Office Business Software to include: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Power Point, HRIS Timecard Systems, Zoom, etc.
  • Ability to project a neat and professional appearance.
  • Business Travel will be required.

Responsibilities

  • Point of Contact – Serve as primary contact point between the FAA Site Captains and ADC Management.
  • Communication – Maintain excellent and effective communication with FAA Site Captains; Security Officers; Program Manager; Human Resources and the FAA Site ATR and FM as required.
  • Leadership – Lead by example and supervise the FAA Site Captain and Security Teams for your assigned FAA Sites. Foster a culture of professionalism, teamwork and exceptional customer service.
  • Policies and Procedures – Thoroughly read and comprehend ADC Policies and Procedures; FAA Contract Statement of Work (SOW); Facility Post Orders (PO); Facility Security Plan (FSP); Facility Occupant Emergency Plan (OEP); Security Officer Manual (SOM); and site-specific Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA) if applicable. In addition, maintain a working knowledge of Federal; State; and Local Laws that affect the FAA Contract for each assigned site.
  • Security Compliance – Enforce compliance with all security orders, tasks, duties, instructions, policies, procedures and protocols in accordance with the Contract Statement of Work (SOW); Facility Post Orders; Security Officer Manual (SOM); Facility Security Plan (FSP); and Occupancy Emergency Plan (OEP). Review Monthly Compliance Reports for each site and take appropriate action as required.
  • Officer Compliance – Ensure all Officers at your assigned sites are compliant with FAA Requirements in accordance with the Contract Statement of Work (i.e. Physical/Medical Certifications; State Security Officer and Firearm Licenses; CPR/First Aid/AED Certifications; Non-Lethal Certifications; Firearm Qualification Certification; Lautenberg Certification; On-the Job and Refresher Training; etc.).
  • Training – Training responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: The Area Manager is responsible for providing Initial, Ongoing and Refresher Supervisor Training for all Site Captains assigned to your FAA Sites.
  • The Area Manager is responsible for Supervising the Site Captain in providing Initial, Ongoing and Refresher Training for all Security Officers assigned to your FAA Sites.
  • Performance Management – Supervise the Site Captain and Security Officer work performance and attendance. Ensure work performance and attendance meets acceptable standards and expectations.
  • Security and Workplace Safety Incidents – Supervise and/or conduct the Investigation and Documentation of Security and Safety related Incidents at the FAA Site. Ensure proper completion, notification, and submission of required Security or Safety Incident Reports in accordance with the Facility Post Orders and Security Officer Manual. Develop and implement preventive measures to minimize security and safety incidents, theft, and property damage at the FAA Site.
  • Facility Inspections and Assessments – Perform Monthly Site Inspections and Routine Security/Safety Assessments covering all three shifts at each assigned site. Identify and report potential Security and Safety risks, vulnerabilities, and threats within and around the FAA Site. Complete the ADC Site Inspection Report. Develop and implement strategies and preventive measures to eliminate, minimize, or mitigate security and safety incidents, theft, and property damage at the FAA Site.
  • Personnel Inspections and Assessments – Supervise regular Security Officer Inspections on all shifts ensuring Uniform, Equipment, Weapon and Grooming standards and expectations are being met. Supervise Performance Assessments on all Officers ensuring performance standards and expectations are being met.
  • Daily Activity Reporting – Supervise assigned FAA Sites ensuring all Officers on each shift properly document all daily activities and events on the Daily Activities Report (DAR). Ensure Site Captains are reviewing the Daily Activity Reports from all shifts to identify significant incidents, events or activities. Ensure Site Captains are properly reporting reportable incidents and/or activities to ADC Management; FAA ATR; FM and/or COR. Report Site Status to ADC Management daily or as required.
  • FAA Facility Complaints – Supervise the Receipt and Resolution of complaints received from the COR; ATR and/or FM involving violations of security orders, tasks, duties, policies, procedures and protocols. Ensure ADC Management is notified and provide all relevant documentation of the complaint and actions taken to resolve and prevent future complaints.
  • Site Captain or Security Officer Complaints – Mediate informal complaints or concerns and provide any needed mentorship and counseling as required. Ensure Human Resources is notified and provide all relevant documentation of the complaint and actions taken to resolve and prevent future complaints. For all Formal Complaints and Grievances, notify the Human Resources Manager for appropriate action.
  • Scheduling – Supervise Site Captains in creating weekly Site Schedules for all active Security Officers. Ensure scheduled shifts, assign tasks, and proper security coverage is attained for all required posts to maintain a security presence 24/7 in accordance with the Contract SOW. Ensure the FAA Facility ATR and or FM are provided with a current/updated list of available qualified security Officers assigned to the FAA site and Weekly Shift Schedules as required or requested.
  • Fiscal Responsibilities – Control security expenses at all your assigned sites. Supervise uniform, equipment and supply requests. Supervise, monitor and manage daily and weekly overtime usage. Keep overtime usage to an absolute minimum.
  • Human Resources Assistance – Provide assistance to ADC Human Resources in employment areas of Recruiting; Onboarding; Investigations; Progressive Discipline; Performance Management; CBA required Shift Bids; and Separations.
  • Administrative Duties and Functions – Responsible for various Management Administrative Duties and Functions include but are not limited to the following: Review and approve weekly site schedules.
  • Review and approve Site Captain Timecards and PTO Requests in Dayforce. In the absence of the Site Captain, review and approve Officer Timecards and PTO Requests in Dayforce.
  • Provide a weekly status report to the Program Manager for each of your assigned sites.
  • Conduct Site Visits to your assigned FAA Sites Monthly or as required.
  • Review and distribute Monthly Compliance Reports to your assigned sites.
  • Supervise the Scheduling and Implementation of Compliance Related Training (i.e. CPR-First Aid; Non-Lethal; ADC Academy Training) monthly.
  • Supervise the Scheduling and Implementation of the Annual Firearms Qualification for all Officers.
  • Review and approve each FAA Site Inspection Reports monthly.
  • Review and audit each sites FAA On-Site Compliance Binder monthly.
  • Review and approve Weapons Cleaning Documentation for your assigned FAA Sites quarterly.
  • Attend and Supervise Officer Firearms Qualifications annually.
  • Attend meetings and briefings with ADC Management and FAA Contract Officer (CO); Contract Officer Representative (COR); ATR and/or FM as required.
  • Performs other Management Duties and Assignments as assigned.
