About The Position

The Herc Rentals Area Manager reports to the District Manager who oversees the management of all branches within your specific area. The Area Manager assists in ensuring all branches meet or exceed their business plans/goals while ensuring equipment rental services are executed in the most cost-effective manner while maintaining the highest quality of standards. Successful candidates must be able to direct and support business initiatives, improve and sustain branch expense management, address and improve branch safety and maintenance issues, while providing Branch Managers the tools to maximize revenue and profitability. Driving both customer and employee satisfaction are key in this role as well. They will follow the direction of the District Manager leading revenue, fleet, profit, policy & procedure and people management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
  • 5 years of equipment rental leadership experience
  • Ability to travel
  • Computer competence
  • Demonstrated problem solving and negotiation skills
  • Strong customer orientation
  • Good judgement and strong decision-making skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills

Responsibilities

  • Ensure profit and loss responsibilities for all district branches are achieved by driving revenue and managing costs.
  • Achieve excellence in key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Influence branch managers towards operational excellence by exceeding internal audit standards
  • Engage team members resulting in positive morale, employee satisfaction, and development for future roles
  • Manage district fleet by driving utilization, identifying needs, protecting assets, and assisting with addition and disposal of fleet
  • Ensure all branches maintain the highest level of safety compliance and culture
  • Solve problems for both strategic and tactical issues.
