About The Position

The area manager position will be the representative of Guckenheimer to the clients of individual business units of an assigned area. He/She will be responsible for the effective and efficient functioning of their area’s individual business units. This will be accomplished by utilizing Guckenheimer guidelines, standards, and policies.

Requirements

  • To perform this job successfully, the ideal Area Manager candidate will have been successful as a Foodservice/ Corporate Dining Operations Manager and has over 8 years of multi-unit management experience in a food service/hospitality/retailing environment
  • He/ She would have experience managing complex operations with direct P&L and growth accountability
  • SERV Safe Certificate required or ability to become SERV Safe Certified
  • Must be compassionate, consistent, and fair to the needs of the employee and of the company
  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills ​
  • Must be detail oriented, organized, able to work independently, prioritize and multitask ​
  • Must be willing to contribute and support your team with a hands-on approach to our operations ​
  • Must demonstrate a commitment to the Guckenheimer business and client satisfaction ​
  • Strong working knowledge in POS (Point of Sales) systems, financial programs, and management best practices
  • Work up to 8 hours a day on your feet, excluding breaks
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 25lbs
  • Come to work properly dressed according to the dress code
  • Employee must be able to work under pressure and time deadlines during peak periods
  • Position may require extensive travel to visit units in the area
  • All employees must adhere to Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) policies and procedures to ensure a safe and compliant work environment. This includes following safety protocols, maintaining environmental responsibility, and upholding quality standards in all tasks. Employees are expected to actively participate in HSEQ training and report any potential hazards or compliance concerns.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an effective safety program
  • Adhere to company prescribed programs (Creativity, Safety and Standards and Workers Compensation)
  • Maintains food variety guidelines throughout all areas and to maintain client’s Core Program Expectations
  • Maintain state of the art merchandising and décor in units throughout the area
  • Ability to maintain excellent food quality standards throughout the area
  • Plan, identify, communicate, and delegate key responsibilities and practices to the management team to ensure smooth flow of operations within the area
  • Oversee area-wide operations and to execute district and regional initiatives including hiring, training, marketing, sales growth, and employee development
  • Review store environments and key business indicators within the area to identify problems, concerns, and opportunities for improvement to provide coaching to the unit management team to act and achieve operational goals
  • Meet client subsidy / Company goals for area
  • Maintain ROCA (Return on Controllable Assets) and inventory level goals
  • Required compliance with purchasing guidelines
  • Area compliance with accounting standards
  • Ensures Payroll is complete
  • Follows all Guckenheimer policies throughout the area
  • Increase store sales and reduce costs
  • Work closely with the Vice-President to review budgets, financials, and units’ performance overall
  • Lead and maintain safety as priority for all employees, customers, and clients at unit level
