About The Position

Shimmick is seeking a talented and dynamic Area Manager to be based in Seattle, WA. This position is responsible for the organization, direction, supervision and coordination of construction activities on a construction project site, or multiple sites, as delineated in the applicable project execution procedures, site specific safety plan and project execution plan. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED + 12 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Heavy civil construction project experience involving utilities, concrete structures, earthworks, MSE walls, etc.
  • Prior heavy civil project management experience.

  • Ability to manage changing deadlines and work well under pressure for multiple team leaders.

  • Highly organized with excellent time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skill.

Responsibilities

  • Provides guidance to employees within the latitude of established policies.
  • Establishes procedures that affect immediate organization.
  • Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including understanding of current business trends.
  • Acts as an adviser to subordinates to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems.
  • May have budget responsibilities.
  • Oversees the administration of projects during the construction cycle including technical, financial, and client satisfaction.
  • Accountable for the development, coordination, and execution of the planning, design and/or construction management activities and personnel under individual's direction on a day-to-day.
