About The Position

As Area Manager, you will serve as a critical link between factory operations and frontline sales, providing strategic and hands-on support to ensure successful execution of business development plans and customer commitments.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in the mining industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (e.g., engineering, business) required.
  • External candidates must have the ability to work in the U.S. on an indefinite basis without sponsorship.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, up to 15%.
  • Results-driven professional with technical know-how.
  • Positive mindset.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality results and demonstrated leadership in international business.
  • Excellent communication and networking skills; comfortable leading in a global matrix organization.
  • Technical competence to collaborate with customers and engineering teams on equipment or construction/mining applications.
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work effectively in multicultural environments and maintain strong presence within Sales Areas.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with heavy machinery in construction and mining applications is an advantage.
  • Additional languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong, trustworthy relationships through motivating and inspiring leadership.
  • Develop a business development plan with internal stakeholders and drive execution within a matrix organization.
  • Collaborate with other divisions to align on key business development activities and strategic sales cases.
  • Stay attuned to customer needs and feedback, ensuring our offerings meet market demands by communicating insights to factory operations.
  • Partner with Sales Areas on pipeline management, active sales cases, equipment demand forecasting, and marketing initiatives.
  • Deliver business results according to set targets, with a strong focus on maximizing profitability for each sales case.
  • Provide sales administration support, including evaluating sales tools, reviewing contracts, and processing customer orders.
  • Support Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process: Consolidate machine forecasts from Sales Areas and turn into a production schedule that aligns with inventory and sales targets.
  • Act as liaison between frontline teams and factory production to manage order specifications, changes, priorities, and deviations to ensure quoted profitability.
  • Support frontline sales capability development through training and coaching on Sandvik Rotary products and customer applications.
  • Ensure compliance with Sandvik’s Environment, Health & Safety standards and promote a culture of Zero Harm.
