About The Position

The Area Manager - MP&L at Ford Motor Company is a key member of the plant leadership team responsible for leading change efforts to meet global manufacturing standards. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3 or more years of experience in manufacturing plant scheduling, distribution, supply chain, inventory planning, and logistics.
  • Broad manufacturing/logistics experience.
  • Demonstrated tenure leading plant personnel and management.
  • Proven ability to present in front of senior management.
  • Ability to teach Ford Production System principles.
  • Competent in the use of data for decision making.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to resolve diverse problems.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage crises effectively.
  • Validated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Material Planning, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • Master's degree in engineering or technical field.
  • Experience with Ford's material management systems.
  • Team Manager/superintendent experience.
  • Demonstrated fluency with MS Office applications.
  • Strong analytical skills and quick decision-making capability.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage MP&L functional knowledge to support plant manufacturing processes with production and non-production materials.
  • Drive Supply Chain Management scheduling and prioritize key issues related to production critical supply issues.
  • Review and evaluate future plans for expansion or modification of the plant's MP&L equipment and resources.
  • Approve headcount authorization and ensure proper structure to support business needs.
  • Coach and counsel employees as required.
  • Review future manufacturing requirements and recommend economical work patterns to plant management.
  • Develop department policy deployment objectives and implementation roadmaps.
  • Ensure implementation of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People, Maintenance, Environment (SQDCPME) objectives.
  • Plan and adhere to safety practices and personal protection equipment usage.
  • Represent MP&L employees in local PDC and ensure developmental plans and performance reviews are completed.
  • Develop action plans to improve employee feedback metrics.
  • Interface with various personnel and stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
  • Demonstrate Servant Leadership and engage with employees to listen and problem-solve.
  • Utilize lean manufacturing principles to meet global standards.
  • Leverage performance data for strategic insights and decision-making.
  • Achieve business results by leading the development and delivery of KPIs.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement by eliminating internal roadblocks and providing necessary resources.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to drive innovation and deliver solutions.
  • Lead transformation and change management efforts.
  • Develop organizational capability through coaching and developing leaders at all levels.
  • Participate in talent strategies to develop high-performing, diverse teams.
