About The Position

The Area Manager will be an active member of the Company’s Operations Management Team and will actively lead the execution of a regionally assigned book of business to fulfill the Company’s Values, Mission Statement, and Goals. Their primary objective will be to achieve exceptional cleaning standards with an eye for presentation and health as mandated by the client, strategic regional growth, minimized employee turnover, and ensuring long term client retention. This individual will drive systems and processes that will lead to higher levels of client and employee satisfaction as well as improving the capabilities of operations through process, project management, and growth. This position will be the tactical and strategic driving force to ensure that the company meets its growth objectives through successful mentoring of team members, growth of the current account(s), and increase scope of services to support the brand recognition and loyalty. Additionally, this employee will act as backup for members of the field operations team during absences.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED. Some college preferred.
  • Must possess a minimum of 5 years Customer Service.
  • Minimum of 2 years management experience.
  • Ability to accurately review and process data and attend to detail.
  • Ability to communicate in both written and verbal formats.
  • Must complete and meet all client employee pre-requisites that includes safety class, medical testing, federal regulated drug testing, and able to obtain a TWIC card.
  • Must have a valid license with a good standing driving record and auto insurance.
  • Has knowledge of the use of a personal computer in a Windows environment.
  • Has knowledge of Word Processing, Spreadsheets, and other assorted business software.
  • Ability to accurately review and process data and attend to detail.
  • 5 years of proven housekeeping experience including baseline floor tech experience or education.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the Operations (Janitorial) department in their assigned region while ensuring they are supporting account supervision, maintaining client relations, and expanding their book of business.
  • Always promotes a customer service mindset with both internal and external customers while educating their employees to be an advocate for the client, the company, and their co-workers.
  • Implements established department procedures and programs that meet goals and ensures a healthy, clean, and safe environment for both clients and guests.
  • Conducts quality improvement inspections within assigned areas of responsibility to ensure quality and satisfaction levels are meeting and/or exceeding expectations of the client, company, and employees.
  • Responsible for P&L activities including maintaining and reviewing account budgets.
  • Manage operational policies, objectives, and initiatives to ensure cost effectiveness including payroll, account-based budgets, upselling of additional services, account collections, and other financial related activities.
  • Develops/coaches department associates to ensure fullest potential is reached including understanding client staffing needs as compared to budgeted headcount.
  • Knows all procedures, union agreements, or employee personnel manuals and meets all established agency requirements.
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and accomplish objectives without supervision.
  • Maintains performance documents and disciplinary actions in conjunction with Human Resources Policies and Procedures.
  • Ensures work assignments, including daily and weekly work schedules, meet department and facility needs.
  • Ensures department Training Programs and recertification programs are being conducted within appropriate timeframes.
  • Orders and uses all supplies/equipment within the areas of assigned responsibility in conjunction with site management.
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and accomplish objectives without supervision.
  • Ability to handle and resolve problems.
  • Works in a team environment interacting with a variety of departments and Client Leadership.
  • Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships; treats others courteously and with respect.
  • Clearly communicate candidate and company expectations during the interview process.
