About The Position

Manages the full fleet of primary and secondary WMHS equipment within the assigned area, in alignment with corporate objectives. This position requires managing all fleet, maintenance and repair activities to achieve market base profitability, including cost control, employee development, and maintaining high training and safety standards. The role involves reviewing capital equipment requisitions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, conducting fleet evaluations, and managing third-party maintenance suppliers. The position also includes overseeing personnel needs, conducting training, and ensuring adherence to WM's Mission to Zero standards.

Requirements

  • Must live and work in the US.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Seven (7) years previous experience.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve market base profitability through effective management of fleet, maintenance, and repair activities.
  • Review capital equipment requisitions in line with corporate guidelines.
  • Ensure safe and reliable vehicles are available to meet operational requirements.
  • Manage effective utilization and right-sizing of vehicle assets.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct fleet evaluations to ensure maintenance standards are met.
  • Ensure third-party maintenance and repair suppliers perform quality, on-time, and on-budget maintenance.
  • Utilize vehicle management systems effectively.
  • Comply with WM's Mission to Zero standards and regulations.
  • Meet all financial review dates and corporate directed programs in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the budget process as required.
  • Oversee personnel needs including selecting, coaching, disciplining, and training employees.
  • Provide input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.
  • Conduct and/or attend driver/safety meetings to maintain favorable working relationships.
  • Provide training and presentations as needed.
  • Update and submit required reports in a timely manner.
