About The Position

The position involves planning, organizing, and directing the manufacturing process to minimize costs through effective utilization of manpower and equipment. The role requires implementing lean manufacturing techniques and developing action plans to achieve plant and company objectives. The individual will provide necessary tools and resources to maximize departmental potential and ensure proper staffing levels based on demand.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ industry experience.
  • 3 years’ previous manufacturing management experience preferred.
  • College Degree required (or willingness to obtain). Bachelor’s degree preferred, associates considered.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor department employees.
  • Establish long-term priorities and expectations.
  • Develop vision for the department’s future.
  • Oversee department payroll and vacation schedules.
  • Facilitate weekly team meetings at tier.
  • Oversee continuous improvement efforts.
  • Manage spending against department budget.
  • Hold employees accountable for job performance, administer discipline when needed.
  • Enhance culture of department.
  • Analyze department staffing levels.
  • Be a resource for employees in department, creating involvement and input.
  • Regularly attend meetings: Tier II, CI, CA, Staff, TPM.
  • Conduct Gemba walks.
  • Coach and establish career development plans with direct report.
  • Main point of contact for planning.
  • Conduct business in accordance with Albany International’s Business Ethics Policy.
