About the position

RNDC is looking for a creative, collaborative, and professional Area Manager to join our growing sales team. The Area Manager is responsible for street execution of sales initiatives, the training and development of District Managers and Sales Representatives as well as executing all sales/promotional programs by performing the following duties. In this role, you will establish, recommend, and implement strategies, objectives, policies and plans for the division's sales and profit objectives. You will direct staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control the sales program. The role requires traveling the sales territories to monitor field activities and gain perspective of current market conditions. You will recommend advertising campaigns and performance incentive programs for the sales department, identify and communicate to the marketing department new product development and revisions of existing product lines, and develop and administer the budget for the sales program. Additionally, you will evaluate and control performance to plan, develop and maintain relationships within the marketplace, engage in difficult negotiations to develop new business, and resolve critical problems affecting the sales program. You will also plan and develop various aspects of sales meetings while monitoring and evaluating the activities and products of the competition. Possession of and operating a motor vehicle to access customer accounts for delivery, promotion, and efficient and prompt sales and other key activities is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university.
  • Three or more years related experience, of which two to three years management work with an alcoholic beverage wholesaler or supplier and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience in the Wine and Spirits industry.
  • WSET certifications.
