About The Position

As the Area Manager – Drilling & Blasting, you will lead drilling and blasting operations within an assigned region, serving as the key link between field teams, customers, and company leadership. You will own scheduling, problem-solving, teammate development, and overall productivity and profitability for your area.

Requirements

5+ years in mining, drilling, blasting, or related field operations
Proven leadership experience managing field-based teams
Strong understanding of drilling and blasting processes and equipment
Effective communicator who can balance safety, productivity, and profitability with sound judgment
Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to learn company systems
Outdoor job sites; uneven terrain; active quarry environments
Frequent standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping; lifting up to 50 lbs
Field visits and safety inspections across multiple job sites
This position requires residency in the Davis/Stigler area of Oklahoma (or willingness to relocate).
Regular travel within the assigned territory is required.

Responsibilities

Lead by example and serve as the safety subject matter expert for your region
Ensure compliance with MSHA, state, and federal regulations, and Two Eight safety policies
Conduct safety meetings/toolbox talks and regular site visits to reinforce a safety-first culture
Report incidents, near-misses, and corrective actions promptly
Lead a team of approximately 10–20 teammates (drillers, blasters, helpers, site manager)
Coach, mentor, and develop teammates; recognize strong performance and address performance gaps
Conduct monthly 1:1s and field audits
Build a culture of teamwork and accountability aligned with Two Eight values
Own daily and weekly scheduling for drilling and blasting teams
Coordinate proactively with customers to keep crews working consistently
Remove barriers to productivity (equipment, staffing, logistics) and plan downtime strategically
Ensure equipment is maintained and cleaned to company standards and customer expectations
Coordinate repairs with maintenance and verify preventive maintenance is completed on schedule
Serve as the single point of contact for customer communication in your region
Build strong relationships with quarry leadership and resolve issues quickly and professionally
Participate in customer meetings and provide feedback on market/operational opportunities
Monitor financial performance and drive efficient use of labor, materials, and equipment
Track consumable use and identify cost-saving opportunities
Submit schedules/reports and approve timesheets and production/admin data as required
