About The Position

The Balance of Plant Maintenance Manager is a key position in the IP Maintenance organization and manages every aspect of maintenance not associated with a process area. This position is responsible for general plant maintenance services and maintenance general presence contractor coordination. The Balance of Plant Maintenance Manager is also responsible for management of all Facility Preservation GMS requirements and budgets. Manage Investment Recovery program for the mill. This position reports to the Maintenance Superintendent.

Requirements

  • A technical degree or equivalent experience in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment (10+ years preferred)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Paper Industry is preferred
  • Effective team building skills

Responsibilities

  • Manage the safety performance of mill’s general presence contractors
  • Coordinate with process areas to efficiently schedule facility preservation contractor work
  • Manage all logistical support for contractors during the mill’s annual outage(s)
  • Set and manage the annual budgets for Facility Preservation including roads, roofs, railroads, painting, structural steel, tanks and pressure vessels
  • Mill coordinator for maintenance general presence contractors including GMRS (mechanical, civil, janitorial, grounds), scaffolding, HVAC, painting, and railroads
  • Point of contact for daily operations of general presence contractors
  • Implement the mill’s welding qualifications program and ensure that welding standards are being met and sustained
  • Manage proper disposal of surplus, obsolete and scrap equipment
  • Provide input for facility capital planning and project development
  • Ensure the mill complies with all Facility Preservation GMS policy requirements, specifically storage tanks (P-4006), unfired pressure vessels & PRD (P-4002, P-1104, P-4007), critical piping (PSM G-1115), cranes & lifting devices (P-4008), and dikes & levees (G-1116)
  • Manage tank, pressure vessel, critical piping and PRD inspection and repair database
  • Mentor early in career professionals
