Basic Job Functions:The role of the Area Maintenance-Cranes (Day Shift) position is primarily, but not limited to, performing the following functions within the assigned area: Resolve ongoing equipment safety & reliability challenges Identify and implement improvements to equipment and processes to reduce costs Plan, prepare, & execute down-day & outage work Support the shift team with maintaining daily operations Perform preventative and predictive maintenance activities Be a Subject Matter Expert on area equipment Ensure adequate sparing Provide effective communication to both the Maintenance & Production team Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Requirements

  • Mechanical and/or Electrical industrial maintenance experience.
  • Must demonstrate high personal initiative and drive.
  • Manager and Supervisor recommendation.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Steel Mill Experience
  • Prior mechanical and/or electrical experience within heavy industry
  • Prior experience with Overhead runway or similar cranes.
