About The Position

The College of Social Work is hiring summer camp youth workers for LiFEsports. LiFEsports is a summer program that aims to foster social competence among youth through their involvement in sport, fitness, and educational activities. To read more about this opportunity and the program offerings follow the link below. https://lifesports.osu.edu/what-we-do/outreach/elementary-middle-school-programs/lifesports-summer-camp/ The College of Social Work's LiFEsports department is hiring for the following role: Area Leader Campus Anticipated Hours: 7:30 am – 3:00 pm Dublin Anticipated Hours: 8:30 am – 3:00 pm Area leaders at LiFEsports are responsible for monitoring the safety of youth during all program activities. Area leaders will support youth care workers by implementing behavioral interventions with youth when deemed necessary. This may include working directly with a youth’s family to develop a plan to support their behavior at camp. Area leaders will be responsible for documenting all behavioral interactions with youth and parents/guardians. Additionally, area leaders will oversee curricula implementation for all camp activities. Area leaders will ensure all youth care workers understand the lessons for each day of camp, observe youth care workers implementing the curricula, and provide feedback and guidance when necessary to improve overall program quality. All area leaders are expected to follow safety and emergency procedures and guidelines.

Requirements

  • Candidate must have prior experience with LiFEsports or experience with youth sports programming

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring the safety of youth during all program activities
