About The Position

The Area Leader (Production) at BorgWarner is responsible for ensuring a safe and productive operation within the manufacturing environment. This role involves supervising and developing a team of production staff to enhance safety, quality, production, and delivery performance. The Area Leader drives a culture of continuous improvement and problem-solving while managing resources effectively to meet production targets.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 5+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• 5+ years' experience in leadership strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of technologies and applications used in manufacturing products and optimization of processes.
• Advanced experience with computer technology and basic Microsoft Office skills required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe and productive operation with optimal use of resources.
• Supervise and develop a team of production staff to improve safety, talent, quality, production, and delivery performance.
• Attain daily Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for safety, talent, quality, delivery, cost, and continuous improvement.
• Conduct audits including LPA, EHS, and 5S as assigned.
• Ensure operational processes are consistently followed across shifts, including standard work and process documentation.
• Organize material and inventory to meet production targets and work in process goals.
• Evaluate production needs and adjust resources to meet daily demand.
• Analyze production data to develop and execute action plans for continuous improvement.
• Ensure routine maintenance of equipment for TPM activities.
• Supervise training processes for production staff across multiple departments and shifts.
• Coach and develop Team Leaders and Area Leaders.
• Complete performance reviews with constructive feedback in alignment with HR.
• Accurately complete timekeeping and update reasons for absences.
• Drive daily maintenance prioritization based on production needs.
• Facilitate daily Team Leader review meetings for coaching and development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional groups to identify opportunities and facilitate resolutions.
