About The Position

ABM Technical Solutions is searching for an Area General Manager to lead their Building & Energy Solutions business in Northern California. The mission is to continue to develop the existing culture, see the “big picture” on how sales and operations work together while creating a winning and profitable operation that successfully serves ABM’s customers through their engaged people every day. The selected candidate, reporting directly to the Regional Vice President, will be responsible for the Area's sales, operations, and profit/loss.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (strongly preferred) , High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum five (5) years in HVAC, Electrical, or Lighting building services
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience managing people, ideally managing managers of people
  • Minimum of two (2) years of critical P&L focus with strategic financial planning and analysis skills to drive growth is required
  • Experience successfully using a conceptual sales cycle selling financially justified solutions
  • Strong leadership and hands-on team building qualities

Nice To Haves

  • MBA and/or other advanced education
  • Experience managing multi-million-dollar budgets/P&L, strongly preferred
  • Previous experience and knowledge of HVAC designs, HVAC maintenance & project sales, applications, and electrical systems

Responsibilities

  • Establish and execute strategic and tactical plans to grow the Mechanical HVAC, Electrical, and Lighting service business.
  • Own the sales plan and actively work to achieve that plan through sales leadership and direct selling.
  • Mentor and build sales team in the development and implementation of effective sales strategies for maintenance and project sales.
  • Assign goals and regularly measure results for sales and operations.
  • Increase existing customer base and maintenance coverage through targeted and effective solution sales techniques.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with customers, vendors, and other outside agents.
  • Direct purchasing decisions and activities as necessary.
  • Promote professionalism and pride in order to attract high caliber talent.
  • Monitor A/P and A/R to assure optimum cash flow.
  • Management of branch profit & loss (P&L)
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Job duties may be modified at any time
