SRM Concrete is searching for a dynamic Area Fleet Manager to lead our fleet operations in the Chattanooga, TN region. As a hands-on, strategic leader with advanced mechanical expertise, you’ll be the vital link between our home office fleet department and field operations—ensuring our shops run at peak performance. Requirements
- Expertise as a highly skilled mechanic with advanced diagnostic and repair capabilities for heavy-duty trucks and equipment.
- Proven experience in fleet maintenance leadership, ideally within the ready-mix concrete, construction, or related industries.
- Commitment to a “working manager” philosophy—ready to lead from the shop floor and turn a wrench when needed.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, influence, and build strong working relationships with managers, technicians, and operational leaders.
- Expert knowledge of DOT regulations and a steadfast commitment to safety and compliance.
- Tech-savvy with proficiency in maintenance software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- A proactive, “Go-Getter” attitude, eager to take initiative and make a tangible impact on business performance.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on leadership as a working manager, delivering direct mechanical support, advanced diagnostics, and on-the-job training to shop personnel.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for fleet and shop operations in your area, offering guidance, support, and strategic direction to Shop Managers.
- Collaborate closely with General Managers and the corporate Fleet Department to implement maintenance programs, streamline processes, and ensure consistency across all locations.
- Analyze shop performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement solutions to boost productivity, reduce downtime, and control costs.
- Champion SRM’s commitment to safety by ensuring all shops comply with company policies, DOT, and OSHA regulations.
- Oversee parts inventory and build strong relationships with vendors to guarantee the availability of essential equipment and services.
