About The Position

The role of a Reinforcing Steel Ironworker Superintendent involves placing reinforcing steel bars in forms that will be filled with concrete. The bars must be lifted, carried, and placed by hand, and then held in position by wrapping and tying wire at the intersections of steel. This reinforcing steel is used in the construction of buildings, bridges, parking structures, dams, storage tanks, and other projects.

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years experience as a Foreman.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Knowledge of safety protocols.
• Experience in cost control.
• Customer service skills.
• Problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret contract plans.
• Proficiency in Outlook, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ability to work with company software.

Nice To Haves

• B.A./B.S. in Business (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Ensure site work is performed safely, productively, and to job specifications.
• Act as a liaison for Field and Office.
• Prepare meeting items and hold meetings for Field personnel as appropriate.
• Handle personnel issues and report them to the immediate Supervisor or Human Resources Manager.
• Act as Foreman in the absence of the Foreman.
• Ensure all time and tonnage reports are done correctly and consistently.
• Support the team in maintaining weekly schedules.
• Attend scheduling and coordination meetings with customers.
• Assist with pricing of the project's future work including production and crew mix.
• Ensure projects are tracking to the labor production and crew mix at bid time.
• Manage and maintain project budget on the placing side of the project.
• Read and interpret project drawings, job specifications, shop drawings, safety rules, instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Follow routine reports and correspondence.
• Speak effectively with employees in one-on-one situations or small groups.
• Follow verbal instructions.
• Be knowledgeable of Field Ironworker collective bargaining agreements.
