Responsibilities include assisting in the supervision of overall operation and maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment for all data center(s) within a market, leading to mission-critical uptime of 99.999% or higher. This position will also serve as a technical resource for the Critical Infrastructure, Design, and Construction teams. Identify strategic business opportunities and threats, and develop and implement plans and processes to achieve long-term business objectives. Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions Provide trusted technical and project guidance to the Operations team. Will assist in the development, implementation and administration of new programs and projects, as well as work to improve existing Programs to support site operations, on the approval from the Director of Engineering. Will support the Operations Group with both technical and administrative tasks related to the overall proper operation, maintenance, and training of the facilities nationwide. Will directly supervise and critique work performance by subcontractors to ensure adherence to standards, schedules and specifications. Will find and correct maintenance discrepancies and work with Operations management to resolve site issues based on agreed upon priorities including management support of vendors and sub-contractors. Will support and train new hire personnel in the planning, scheduling and completion of preventative, corrective and emergency maintenance. Will require the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects, have strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to navigate common word processing programs. Operate independently with limited direct management. Act as an escalation point for all facilities-related issues within the data center, escalating to the Data Center Facility Manager as needed. Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures. Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to by vendor and Flexential staff Develop site solutions to support various key infrastructure and business needs. Communicate complex technical information to a non-technical audience. Establish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses, and prepare reports on all aspects of critical facility operations and maintenance. Continually drive innovation with a focus on reducing operational costs and mitigating risk in the facility. Configure monitoring/alerting of facility equipment. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
