About The Position

The Area Director is responsible for providing overall managerial oversight of Supporting Living programs and also our Foster Care program. This position is responsible for supervision of approximately four (4) Program Directors. This position will oversee programs within the Columbus area. The Area Director will have overall supervision of the programs, retention, training, and development. In addition to the organization and implementation of direct support, person-centered planning, advocacy, regulatory compliance, safety, financial management, and maintenance of the physical environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Psychology, Counseling, Allied Health, Health and Human Services, Human Services Management, Social Work, or Behavioral Science or a related field.
  • Licensed Social Worker (LSW) is strongly preferred.
  • 4 years of managerial experience in the field of human services or healthcare (preferably overseeing community-based programs and support for adults with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities).
  • Prior experience in financial management of programs, including but not limited to developing and implementing financial budgets, and participating in rate negotiations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in service delivery to people with challenging behaviors/mental health needs and who require behavioral intervention preferred.
  • Experience working with a budget ranging from $3-5M.
  • Knowledgeable and adaptable to new software technologies such as PLANFUL, ULTIPRO, KRONOS, THERAP, DASHBOARD AND E-GUARDIANSHIP.
  • Intermediate-level user of Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the training and supervision of Program Directors, evaluating program and staff performance to ensure exceptional quality and efficient utilization.
  • Offer valuable support for staff and caregiver training to enhance their skills and expertise.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all funding sources, regulatory bodies, and families of those we serve ensuring licensing and compliance.
  • Navigate, manage and lead all aspects of program/area financial performance, including budget management, contract review/adherence and rate negotiation.
  • Collaborate effectively with the State management team to optimize state-wide operations.
  • Assure proper management of persons served and household finances.
  • Assess and propose policies and procedures to elevate program efficiency; leverage technical and analytical tools to gauge performance and productivity, pinpointing any service gaps.
