About The Position

The Area Director Revenue-Hotel is responsible for identifying and maximizing revenue opportunities for a collection of full-service premium select and/or independent branded hotels. This role involves providing daily support to teams for achieving both long-term and short-term revenue goals, utilizing system reporting tools, and accurate forecasting to enhance profitability. The position also requires participation as a key member of the Executive Committee for the hotel, ensuring compliance with Aimbridge Hospitality standards and regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 6 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field required; or a 4-year college degree in business statistics, revenue management, or hospitality with at least 4 years of related experience.
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office Products, particularly Excel for reporting.
  • Understanding of general hotel operations and yield management philosophy.
  • Knowledge of branded or similar PMS systems, internet and travel websites, and industry-specific reports including Travelclick and STR is desired.
  • Ability to work with and understand financial information and data, including basic arithmetic functions.
  • Critical thinking skills to investigate changes in demand and ensure communication of critical information.
  • Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational management skills and ability to handle multiple responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Set, manage, and collaborate with GM/DOS to input appropriate yield controls to maximize hotel revenue from all distribution channels.
  • Coordinate with the front office team to maximize revenue through effective inventory management, upselling, and sell-out efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to consult on strategies for negotiating and booking optimal group and catering business, ensuring proper utilization of hotel meeting space.
  • Manage brand/third-party channels and relationships, working with OTA market managers on promotions and market exposure, and analyze ROI on marketing programs.
  • Clearly relay items/actions discussed during meetings and distribute notes and reports to stakeholders in a timely manner; facilitate meetings as required.
  • Leverage and maintain Sales & Revenue Management systems for daily operations, forecasting support, and reporting in accordance with hotel and brand standards.
  • Analyze revenue reports to make Yield Management decisions and update inventory and rate information as necessary.
  • Perform displacement analysis to support group sales decisions and communicate recommendations to Revenue leadership.
  • Ensure accurate preparation and analysis of market segmentation reports, production reports, and source contribution analysis.
  • Analyze and review monthly and weekly STR Report results to understand RevPAR Index gains or losses and develop proactive strategies against competition.
  • Develop, monitor, and adjust group pricing strategies and preferred patterns as necessary.
  • Serve as key contact for system use and revenue management principles, providing in-person training as required.
  • Engage in the annual BT pricing process, providing data analysis of production trends and pricing guidance to hotels.
  • Execute daily, weekly, and monthly forecasts and contribute to annual budget processes.
  • Participate in monthly financial reviews focused on sales revenue and P&L as applicable.
  • Represent the hotel by participating in industry functions as applicable.
  • Manage and communicate group cut-off dates and monitor hotel status throughout the day, adjusting inventory controls as needed.
  • Perform special projects and participate in task forces, committees, and other responsibilities as assigned.
